 SM Entertainment has announced to the local media that SHINee member Onew recently underwent surgery for removal of vocal polyps and vocal fold mucosa reconstruction on June 3 and is currently recovering. He was released from the hospital and is resting at home. SM Entertainment elaborated, “There is no effect on his daily life, and he is receiving treatment as an outpatient.” Due to this surgery and recovery, Onew was unable to join the rest of the SHINee member when they left for Brazil on June 5 to film for KBS’ “Music Bank,” as well as being unable to join the musical “Singin’ in the Rain” as originally planned. So this is why he didn't go to Brazil and is no longer a part of Singing in the Rain.
And he was going through this since FEBRUARY(according to other sources)?!
sigh...at least he's resting now...and I hope SM actually lets him rest.

I'm so sad that he's been hurting for so long, but I hope everything's ok and that he gets proper time to rest. I heard people talking about how the next SWC is in like 12 days do you think they'd really make him go to that? If they make him start going to schedules I hope he gets to lipsynch for a while because his voice deserves some major rest and recovery. <3 I'm glad the stuff about the musical and Brazil is cleared up though. It's just sad that it's that he was hurt instead of a cool secret project.  I just really hope he's ok. |

I am relieved to know about the reason of his absence in Singing in the rain. Still this made me sad.. He has been feeling bad for so long~ and the surgery.. I really hope he takes as much rest and care as he deserves. Our angel should recover fully to be able to do his favorite job again. His heavenly voice will come back to us soon I believe~ I wish him all the happiness in the world. I truly hope he's feeling better day by day <333

We all knew they were hiding something for us...I was really hoping it wasnt something like this though. Im happy that the operation looks like it went well. I hope he gets rest now.
